first listen :: Lone Kawan - 'Take Me Away'

Lone Kawan aka David Goeckner is a beatsmith based out of Chino Hills suburbia, making forward-thinking sample-based music. He's currently studying Audio Production at an Art Institute and its clear the dude is following his passion. With about eleven original tracks on his soundcloud page dating back to last year, David has established a very organic glitch-rhythmic sound consistently one after another. Dropping grainy lo-fi vocal samples here and there in his music, he's got a good understanding of how to arrange an instantly catchy beat composition. The man was kind enough to offer up one of his newest joints, 'Take Me Away', for exclusive first listen here on That's Deck.

'Take Me Away' builds off nature's noise with kids playing in the background, simmering over a relentless synth that graduates the track into a very pleasing glitch severed breakdown. Emotionally sampling a pitched down elongated, "Take Me Away", its easy to fall in love with the broken beat rhythm Lone Kawan has crafted. You can stream and download the track down below for free. Also be sure to listen to Thats Deck on EMS Radio tonight at 7PM PST as Lone Kawan will be doing a special live in-studio session! Its going to be good.
