Avalon Emerson - 'Zsa'

As I was digging through 20 Jazz Funk Greats blog the other day, I came across a golden dance-breaker from San Francisco house producer, Avalon Emerson. She's a force to be reckoned with. Her month old track, 'Zsa', has been on constant play ever since I landed on her soundcloud page. All-round solid warehouse party vibes. Don't overlook this one. Vxlam - 'Purple Jems'

Russian Federation sp-404 fiend, Vxlam, builds his psychedelic vibes through a level utterly mind-mushing beats. His most recent release, random smoked beats, is what got my utmost and undivided attention. It's completely intoxicating and THC embedded beat phrases get the mind stuck in a cycling loop, setting free the hallucinatory dimethyltryptamines to the brain. 'Purple Jems' takes you on that adventure. Check out all of his wonky, topsy, and turvy beat compostions from past to present on soundcloud. He will not disappoint...

MedicineHat - 'Warm Waters'

MedicineHat is back at it with a warm serene bleeding jam. Recently debuted on Zen Tapes, Ned Sasi gives us a spring filled bloomer entitled, 'Warm Waters'. The choppy water bubbler lucidly swifts and jives in a relaxing complex of easy-listening. Turn up the volume and create a dream of your own...

Chits - 'Barry Sanders'

I don't know much about this dude but he goes by the name of Chits. He joined soundcloud about a year ago and has been updating the interwebs with his perceptual invisions of sound since. Ranging from broken-down hip-hop beat structures to drowning sample-based vibrations, the man Chits delivers his newest tune, 'Barry Sanders'. The track takes on a gripping subliminal foot-work racket and layers itself with gratifyingly obtuse synth stabs. Definitely someone to look out for. Check out his mesmerizing cuts over on his soundcloud. For now indulge...

Roane Namuh & Reva DeVito - Cloudsine

Portland DJ, Roane Namuh collaborates with female vocalist, Reva DeVito, to compose a soulful boom-bapping experience. Their 8-track funk formulated release, Cloudshine, aggregates the passion and the finely tuned visions of both Portland musicians in an r&b glorified universe where all the jazzy-lined frequencies are aligned. Each number leaves you worry-free space to get ready for the floor and boogie down. Its an instant classic and one for the books. A lot of Erykah Badu's vibrations are closely tied into the success of this duo's debut, since I am such a Badu fan. Download and listen at its entirety over on bandcamp for a 'name your price' deal...

Update :: Roane just updated his soundcloud with a remix of Andreya Triana's, 'Tea Leaf Dancers'. Let loose...

Comodo - Havana / Float

Electronic music is constantly growing each day with its easily accessible tools to implement and replicate a sound of a certain genre or type. Unknowingly or intentionally, Nottingham producer, Comodo, fuels to the monstrous electronic, minimal, and chill-step engine to hollow out a two track release following his EP, To The Sun, which made its debut last year. Both tracks establish a reverb-pitched exhilarating ambiance that are ever so buoyant in its time warping fashion. Go sit up in your room, turn off the lights, and let the sound carry you off into space. Take a listen and download both tracks over on bandcamp.

Newest Software label member and former DECKastee, Napolian, remixes Carlos Giffoni's, 'Evidence'. DECKast #27 x Alen Grey

Recently reacquainted music comrade, and DJ, Alen Grey, mixes in for this issue of the DECKast. Alen put together a short and sweet compilation of tracks ranging in all dynamic variations to get your body moving and head-turning. Its got a whole Sepalcure vibe to it. Mount Kimbie turned up on the bpm. Its funky, soulful, and just about everything you could ask for when you need sometime to escape. Check out this other mix he recently made over at his soundcloud. In meantime get lost for the next 27 minutes in this. Here's what my boy Alen had to say about the mix...

"Just a selection of tracks that I've really been feelin the vibes and emotions from lately. Really deep & instrumentally creative music with some soulful elements. The intro to Asura's "He Sees On Through Her" contains a shortened edited version of dialogue from the film "Goldeneye" between Sean Bean and Pierce Brosnan's characters. I always enjoyed hearing dialogue intros to mixes(plus I love films) and wanted to finally give my first attempt at it. It was just a spontaneous thought I had right before I started the mix."

KID A - 'BB Bleu'

The much recently buzzed about, Anni T aka KID A is one real gem of a musician. I recently stumbled upon her through a post by The Fader. She's been around for sometime now though. With her sporadic appearances on releases dating back to 2008; Anni has a profound niche in the kind of music she fashions.

Her last summer release, PPPONEY OST, is one that should've not been missed. It's a beautiful combination of electronic soundscapes that contain Japanese spoken words wound up in a spacious abstraction of clicking pop. Her healing vocals can easily be repeated over and over. She is working on a new album with French DJ/Producer Agoria, entitled BLCKRSECHLL (Black Rose Chill). Watch out for that one, in the meantime stream and download her pervious album via bandcamp. Also below, download a remastered version of her previous heart-felt tune, 'BB Bleu'...

PO PO - 'Final Fight'

Mad Decent's former band of brothers, PO PO, has slimmed down to just one lonesome sibling and that's Zeb Malik. The one brother carried on the name to create the long-awaited debut album, Dope Boy Magick. Comprised of old and new tracks, the album takes on a much more brighter and organized approach from the previous smaller releases. The album also features production from Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Nick Cave, PiL, Gang of Four) as well as Diplo and Malik himself.

'Final Fight' was released as a video in February of 2010 (watch here) but made the final cut for this album. It's a great track, as is the rest of the album. PO PO has progressed and grown quite a bit in the past years and I feel this album will definitely bring a new plate of opportunities for Philly-Paki basement star. Preview and listen to the album over here. Highly recommended.

Verred - 'L'appel du vide'

Machester, UK's, tension-seeker, Verred, recently left a new track of his entitled, 'L'appel du vide', in my submissions inbox. This is my first time coming across any of this 19 yr old's sounds, and I must say I am absolutely mesmerized. His newest number gauges deep inside a leaky cauldron of swirling hubbubs and groans that seamlessly plateau into a eerie narration of just down-right creepiness. Definitely some Shackelton vibes coming off this one. Download it below and check out the haunting video that comes with it. Also, take a listen at his soundcloud for further listening.

The Olsen Twinns EP

Mickey Davis aka The Olsen Twinns of St. Paul, Minnesota, recently released an EP entitled, It's Okay Because Some People Still Love Each Other. The EP's poppy antidepressant formulations have an organic sway to them that has the sounds of Davis to be somewhat unearthly yet bizarrely pleasing. Mickey has played with some great artists like Oneohtrix Point Never and Tim Hecker as well. Very neat and totally fitting for this time of year. "Mister Lies is an experimental electronic producer raised in Connecticut and is based out of Chicago."

His debut EP titled "Hidden Neighbors" was released on February 9th of this year. The songs presented on this EP give off some sweet, cozy and sad, (but not too sad) vibes that you will surely want to experience and cozy up with a cutie with. He was also featured on Pitchfork's Best New Track Of The Day which in turn made my day. This guy truly deserves the recognition. Can't wait to hear what he does next! Stream the whole EP over at his bandcamp. Here's one of the EP's highlights...
