Bibio - 'Like A Sundial' + 'Don't Summarize My Summer Eyes'
Bibio recently released his sun-chiming EP, K Is For Kelson, on Warp records. The lsd-grooving 4 track record leaks with summer-esque tones and textures that run around perfectly for this time of year. 'Like A Sundial' droops in and out of an orderly flowing, guitar rifting mind-mush of sound, that really stretches out to be a true sun-gazer. 'Don't Summarize My Summer Eyes' may possibly work up to be my favorite track of the summer thus far. Streamingly great in every which way, it transports the mind to a gorgeous mantra-sounding melody that repeats and satifies with each do-over. When those vocals kick in pure bliss is absolutely felt, at least for it did. Beautiful EP and great year for Bibio. Purchase and stream the 12" over here.

DECKast #12 x D33J
We Did It Collective's finest, Djavan Santos aka D33J, lured up a mind-scaping composition of tracks for this issue of our DECKast. Creepingly slow-moving hazed tunes for those late nights, early mornings, and lazy afternoons. It's a glorious 30min mixture of sounds. Here's his short blurb about the mix...
"no real 'theme' grounding this mix. just wanted to toss some of my friends tunes in as well as some tracks i've been digging both new/old. hopefully this provides you with something to finish that final essay for english class, or serve as some nice lemonade music for your friends summer birthday party, whatever."

Lando Kal - 'Further'
Berlin's, Lando Kal (one half of Lazer Sword), puts out a 12" on Hotflush featuring two tracks 'Further' and 'Time Out'. 'Further' chimes in resembling to something that of an early Joy Orbison track. Deep spaced chill-out house that winds and glides on a groovy bassline, projecting an unforgettable cheering vocal tune. Purchase the vinyl or digital release HERE.

album :: Death Grips - Exmilitary
Sacramento's tech-rockin rap crew, Death Grips, thrashes up a booming free mixtape entitled, Exmilitary. The 13 track piece screams with utterly raw and dynamic rap that is backed with lo-fi post-garage experimentations of tricky bass rhythms that inherit a sounding punk exuberance. Staying consistent throughout it speaks volumes of exclusivity, setting a brand entirely of it's own. It brings the heat right in time for the summer. The eminent dreamscaper, Balam Acab, dropped some free material earlier last month on his facebook, under the name Etherea. I know I'm a tad late on this one but it's far too good not to be shared. album :: Blue Sky Black Death - NOIR
Seattle's cinematic hip-hop instrumentalists, Blue Sky Black Death deliver their finest new album, NOIR, on the Fack Four Inc label. From sequenced feel good melodies to lusciously warped soundtrack-like beats, the Seattle duo manage to curate one for the year's books. In the first half of the 14 tracks, 'Sleeping Children Are Still Flying' loosens up and elevates an unreeling build up of textures and tones that are so unexpected yet beyond gratifying. The following track 'And Stars, Ringed', resembles somewhat like the Lion King soundtrack, epic and legendary, with a Air France sounding vibe embedded into it. In the second half, the track, 'Starry', lures an incredibly beatific opera-esque hymn that syncs in moves through stirringly wavy orchestral reverberations. So lively and uplifting, from beginning to end. Stream and buy the whole album HERE.

Lapalux - 'There Are Monsters In This Bed'
UK's Stuart Howard aka Lapalux released his EP, Many Faces Out of Focus, last month on the Pictures label. Ranking in at track number 4 on the 6 track piece, 'There Are Monsters In This Bed' dreams up a lucid creation of lonesome glitchy-ness that weaves in and out of a broken stretch of never ending notes. So many dimensions to this one. Buy and stream the EP HERE. Check out all of his other awesome works on his soundcloud.

Daphni - 'Mapfumo'
Daphni aka Caribou released, Edits Vol.1, earlier last month, installing the first release on Resista records. I have been meaning to post about this for quite sometime now but I never got around to it. It's a piece that must be heard. The a-side of the 12" features, 'Mapfumo', a 12 and a half minute edit of Zimbabwean based sounds and sensationally juked afro-beat refrains. Groovefully repeating clipped guitar rifts and structurally ornamented electronic rhythms, it's jam that will keep you moving non-stop.
