UK garage-tunist, Joy Orbison, releases his second record on his co-ran label, Doldrums. The release contains two 6 minute deep tech-house bangers that open up your mind, body, and soul. My favorite of the two, 'BB', expands rhythmical basslines and cuts into funky synth rifts that signal your body to do nothing but move. Grad the 12" here.
The darklord of the dubstep/funky genre, Shackleton, just released, Man on a String Part 1 and 2 / Bastard Spirt, on his new upcoming record label Woe to the Septic Heart, in addition to Skull Disco. Get the 12" here. 'Bastard Spirit'; the basslines and dark tribal rhythms on this track are mind-churning, keeping you entertained for all 8 minutes of it's glory. Check it out...

I was searching around bandcamp and I came across California beat instrumentalist, Dust. Don't know too much about this guy but he is making some genius soulful beats with his SP303, that I can't seem to get enough of. Download his latest and only release, 'dust in the lab vol.1 - Insomnia', on his bandcamp for free.
Rustie recently dropped his revision of Nicki Minaj's, 'Massive Attack', on his twitter. Download was available on his soundcloud but there was a 100 dl limit. Luckily 92bpm got a hold of it and put it up! The track is filled with loud downtempo saxes and subtly audible drums, which work beautifully with Nicki's hard-hitting voice.
California based group, The Samps, have a 12" dropping soon on Big Love. Their space-funkydelic jam, 'Where You From', has been floating around the internet for sometime now, and thanks to GVB, I finally got a hold of it. There's not much to say about this one, just got to listen for yourself...it's too good for words.
Lone's most recent release on WERKDISCS, Once In a While/Raptured, encompasses two tracks that are downright bangers for the dancefloor. 'Raptured', my personal favorite of the two, consists of boogie-down beats intertwined with disco house vibes, leaving you with nothing to do but bop your head and move your body. Get the 12" vinyl on bookmat today!
Earlier this month Tokyo based beatsmith, Fitz Ambro$e did a guest mix for Klipmode. The 30min mix showcases many of Fitz's glitchy broken down 8bit cadences and a track or two from LA based beat doctors, Dibia$e and eLan. It's too good, DL below. Also check out the most recent Klipkast done by Shlohmo, its great!
About a month ago UK based artist Rekordah did a mix for London's knowledgeable marketing company Hyponik. The 53min mix explores sluggish intricate beats and psychedelic easy-listen ditties, infused with the rapping of some great hip-hop tracks. I unfortunately couldn't find the tracklist for this mix but do not pass this one up, take a listen!
I think sometimes we tend to forget what dubstep has came from. It's now a genre that has branched off into so many sub-genres and has somehow gone from what was meant for the underground scene to now being on the cusp of going mainstream. I personally have always preferred listening UK dub artists like Kode 9, Zomby, Cooly G, Burial, Martyn, Mala, etc. because they along with others, I feel, set the foreground of the dubstep genre and without them dubstep would probably not be where it is today. Lately i have been listening to alot of Zomby's old stuff, mainly his 2008 release of Liquid Dancehall and Strange Fruit. Which you can purchase HERE on 12". Both tracks are bass heavy and something deeper than dubstep, so organic, mind boggling, and must listens. Check it...
Young Henry a.k.a. Kyle Y. is yet another pristine artist this year to emerge from the great bandcamp site. He incorporates dark textures and drabby sounds into his chill lackadaisical melodies, creating a barrier of sound blocking out everything else. His most latest release, U/N, which is available for free off his bandcamp, along with all his other releases. Below is the first track off his latest album... good stuff!
Pogo aka Nick B. used to produce professionally for Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios; now he makes music and chops up films, using old movie favorites. His tracks are all based on a particular movie; taking different scenes and making them samples, while infusing his mesmerizing fantasy-beats. Get all his albums HERE. Download some of his tracks HERE and watch his film shorts HERE. Down below are some of my favorites...
Shlohmo remixes Toro Y Moi's, 'Fax Shadow'. He remixes the originally upbeat chillwave track into a soulfully sedated beatific sound that is overwhelmingly too good to listen to.
I have been searching for this a while now and I finally got a hold of it! It's absolutely amazing, each track on this album pushes the dubstep genre and sub genres to a place beyond belief. Hence the name, Future Bass, because it truly is something not of the past or present but definitely well in the future. Soul Jazz Records claims it to be "Post-dubstep, post-House, post everything" and it is exactly that! The album complies the best artists in the scene right now; Mala, Four Tet, Untold, Coki, Ramadanman, and others. It's a must listen! Here's two bangers off the album...

Virginia Beach's, Fox Hands, latest 4-track album entitled, Peoplenoswan, absolutely kills. He sounds like a cross between Fleet Foxes and Animal Collective, but definitely has his own unique sound. Listen for yourself. Grab the album for free below on his bandcamp...
